What this is
Planted-tank advice is spread across forum threads, product labels and old charts, often copied from one site to the next with the units lost on the way. MossPearl gathers the parts that can be calculated, does the arithmetic in the open, and links each figure to the place it was published.
What it isn't
We don't review products, and we haven't tested the fertilizers, lights or remineralizers named here, or kept the fish for this site. Product figures are the makers' own directions and label analyses. Method figures are their authors' published recipes. Species data is from Seriously Fish profiles. Where we had to assume something, such as the weight of a teaspoon or the density of a liquid fertilizer, the page says so. The full list is on Methods and sources.
How the site is paid for
The calculators are free. We plan to add affiliate links to plant and supply shops and clearly marked display ads later; the affiliate disclosure lists what is live. Neither will change a number or a default.
Who publishes it
MossPearl is published by Bockius Ventures LLC, a Texas limited liability company. Corrections are welcome at hello@mosspearl.com, and we date every change.
