Affiliate disclosure

Where things stand

Every link on the site today is an ordinary link. Product names appear because their makers publish the directions and analyses the calculators need. We plan to apply to affiliate programs run by aquarium plant and supply shops, and may later add clearly marked display ads. If you buy through an affiliate link, the shop may pay Bockius Ventures LLC a commission, and the price you pay is the same. We follow the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).

Programs

When we join or apply to a program, it is added to this table with its status and date.

How links will be labeled

Each affiliate link will be marked “affiliate link” right next to it, before you click, and a page containing them will say so near the first one. Affiliate links will carry rel="sponsored nofollow". Sponsored content, if any, will be labeled “Sponsored” at the top.

Independence

Shops and makers don't pay for placement and have no say in our numbers. A product is in a calculator because its maker publishes the figures needed to calculate with it, not because of a commission. Defaults come from cited sources or are labeled as examples.

No reviews or testing claims

We don't publish product reviews, star ratings or testimonials, and we don't claim to have tested products we haven't tested. We don't accept free products in exchange for coverage; if that ever changes, we'll say so on the page.
